Zach walked into his living room to find Kendall holding Emma in her arms. He inquired about what was going on and Kendall explained that Emma had a fever. So, Zach and Kendall brought the little girl to the hospital. While Jake examined Emma, Kendall called Ryan to let him know about Emma. Ryan rushed to the hospital, but Zach was not happy to see him. Zach asked Kendall why she called Ryan. She declared that Ryan had a right to know that his daughter was sick. Zach wondered why Kendall did not call Annie, as well. Kendall protested that Emma did not need her crazy mother, but needed her loving father instead. Zach did not think it was fair of Kendall to keep Annie in the dark.

Emma was ecstatic to see Ryan arrive at the hospital. She begged her father to let her go home with him. He promised that they would be together soon and read her a story to cheer her up.

Kendall heard a commotion in the ER while she was at the hospital with Emma. An entire bridal party was seeking medical attention because they all broke out in a terrible rash before the wedding ceremony. The groom was irate and blamed Bella for the bridal party's allergies. Kendall looked shocked and asked Angie to test the perfume for any toxins. Meanwhile, the groom threatened to sue Kendall for the faulty product that ruined his wedding.

Annie was sitting on the patio at the Chandler Mansion when she noticed someone was watching her from the bushes. Annie screamed, so Babe and JR came running to her side. Annie insisted that there was a man stalking her. JR and Babe tried to calm her down. Annie knew that they did not believe her. JR and Babe felt that Annie was under a lot of stress, which put her on edge. Annie was certain the man that was watching her was the same man that attacked her the night before. Just then, Annie received a phone call from Jesse asking her to come to the police station.

Annie entered Jesse's office and she inquired if he found her stalker. He explained that he called her in to discuss the custody battle, not her supposed stalker. He proceeded to question her about the gun Ryan found in her room. She claimed that Adam put the gun in her room, even though he denied it. Jesse said that it was up to the judge as to whether or not she could regain custody of Emma.

Annie walked out of Jesse's office and saw Ryan. Ryan said that he was called to the station for more questioning. He then informed her that Emma was in the hospital. She freaked out, but he assured her that Emma only had a mild virus. She resented Kendall for calling Ryan, but not her.

Annie went to Zach and Kendall's home to see Emma. Annie was very upset that no one called her to say that Emma was sick. Zach apologized, but Annie knew that Kendall was the one that refused to call her. Zach said nothing. Annie played with Emma and the little girl seemed to feel better. After Emma went to bed, Annie asked Zach if he would help her get custody of Emma. He stated that he would help her.

Amanda showed Greenlee an advertisement for Bella, which featured a full moon. The two women discussed the romantic effect the moon had on them. Greenlee stated that her love with Aidan was steady and consistent, unlike her previous romances. Amanda explained that her relationship with Jake was a rollercoaster ride and she did not know where it was headed.

Babe, Amanda, and Greenlee were drinking champagne to celebrate Bella's success when Kendall stormed into the office. Kendall announced that Bella made a bridal party sick. Just then, Kendall received a call from Angie stating that there was a synthetic ingredient in the perfume that was not listed on the bottle. Kendall chastised Amanda and Babe for letting a faulty product be sent out to the stores. Amanda admitted that she had prior knowledge of the possibility that Bella could make people sick. This infuriated Kendall even more. Kendall made the women recall the product to avoid lawsuits. Then, Kendall pulled Greenlee aside to divulge her theory that Adam was behind the tainted perfume.

Erica visited Adam at the mansion. Adam commented that Erica could not get enough of him because she was always around. She was insulted by the remark and called him pompous. JR overheard the conversation and inquired what was going on between them. Adam avoided the question by leaving the room to make a phone call. JR pressed Erica for the truth. JR assumed that either they were planning to take over Fusion together, or Erica was spying on Adam for Kendall. Erica denied any underhanded dealings.

Erica told Adam that JR was suspicious of them. Adam revealed that JR and Babe were planning to take over Fusion. Erica was appalled that Babe thought she could run a company. Kendall then barged into the room. Kendall exclaimed that she knew Adam was somehow responsible for the tainted Bella perfume, but he denied it. Kendall warned Adam to stay away from her company and he slyly smiled.

Stuart was painting a picture of the moon when Taylor jogged past. Taylor remarked that moonlight could get soldiers killed during a war. Stuart asked her if she was running towards something or running away from something. She smiled awkwardly and ran off without answering.

Ryan stopped by to say hello to Stuart when he saw the painting. Ryan noted that Stuart's rendition of the moon was beautiful. Ryan asked if he could purchase the painting for Emma, but Stuart said he could have it as a gift. Stuart left to deliver the painting to Emma. As Ryan stared at the moon, Greenlee approached him.

Jake saw Taylor sitting at the bar at the Comeback, so he sat next to her. He asked if she was ignoring him because she had not returned any of his calls. She claimed that she was busy, but he thought she was scared of him. She laughed and stated that terrorists scared her, not Jake. He inquired why she did not want to spend time with him. She admitted that he made her feel vulnerable, which was uncomfortable for her. Jake said that she was amazing because she challenged him to think. Then, he put money into the jukebox so it would play a slow song. He asked Taylor to dance and she took his hand. As the danced, they gazed into each other's eyes.

Annie was shocked when Zach offered to help her get Emma from Ryan. Zach said he needed to show the judge she was a sane woman who could care for a child. Zach asked Annie to go see a therapist. Annie said Ryan wanted her to see a therapist, but she was always too scared.

Aidan listened through Greenlee's bugged earrings as she spoke to Ryan at the boathouse. Greenlee and Ryan looked at the full moon together. They both said it looked beautiful at the same time. Greenlee asked Ryan if he was nervous about the custody hearing. Ryan said he and Emma belonged together. Ryan thanked Greenlee for sharing the moon with him and left. He went to see Emma at Zach's house. Annie showed up to see Zach while Ryan was present. Annie said she just wanted to tuck Emma into bed, but Ryan had beaten her to it. While Ryan and Kendall hung a picture of the moon in Emma's room, Annie told Zach she would see a therapist if he went with her to the appointment.

Reporters surrounded Amanda as soon as she stepped in Fusion. The reporters wanted to know if Fusion was responsible for the tainted perfume bottles. Amanda refused to discuss any details and ushered the reporters out of the building. Randi told Amanda she handled the press well. Greenlee came to work as Amanda and Pete fielded calls from the media. Greenlee said Kendall went to confront Adam about tainting the perfume. Kendall came to work to inform them that Adam denied the accusations. Even she agreed that Adam would not hurt his own daughter.

Kendall accused Adam of ruining the perfume and trying to steal the company. Erica told Kendall that she never saw Adam partaking in suspicious activity to steal the company. Babe and JR walked into the room to see what all the noise was about. Kendall told them that Adam tainted the perfume. Adam denied the allegations, and instead, accused Babe of using Bella to snatch Fusion from under Kendall and Greenlee. Babe and JR denied Adam's allegations. Adam said that Colby must have gotten sick from the tainted perfume she put on at the launch party. Adam said he would never harm his own daughter. Erica went after Kendall as she stormed off. Kendall was distraught that her mother did not back her up. Erica said Kendall should have let her get the truth from Adam before brewing up a storm.

Assuming Erica was gone, JR said he believed Adam tainted the perfume to try to show him and Babe up. Erica came back into the room. She asked to speak to Adam alone. Erica bluntly asked Adam if he tainted the perfume. Adam said no. Erica claimed she believed Adam. After Erica was gone, Adam decided to share something with the news reporters.

Jake found Taylor at the Comeback. He asked her if it was tough to always act so brave. Taylor said she was not one to let her guard down - not since Brot died. Tad asked Krystal why Taylor and Jake went from dancing to fighting. Krystal said she was still trying to figure that out herself. Tad pulled Jake aside to find out what happened. Jake said Taylor pushed him away the moment they got close. Tad said Jake should tell Taylor about Carolina, his estranged wife. Jake said his loss with Caroline was not the same as Taylor's loss with Brot. Jake decided to go to Fusion and check on Amanda. Meanwhile, Tad told Krystal he was hired by an anonymous source to investigate Taylor. Krystal said Tad should turn down the job, but Tad already had deposited the source's payment. Tad suspected the source was Taylor's family.

Taylor called a woman, but hung up once she answered the phone.

Fusion staff turned on the news to see Adam urging all Bella users to file lawsuits against Fusion. Babe and JR stood on the sidelines in the room as Adam discussed Colby's trauma from using the perfume. Amanda angrily threw a bottle of Bella perfume against the wall. Jake tried to sooth Amanda, but she felt that her whole life was destroyed.

Annie fell asleep on the couch in the living room, so Babe tried to wake her. Annie was startled and pushed Babe to the ground. JR saw it and grabbed Annie by the arm. He demanded to know why Annie pushed Babe. Annie apologized to Babe and explained that she was scared when she felt someone try to wake her. Annie began to discuss the supposed man that was stalking her. JR and Babe tried to calm her down, but she became more agitated when she assumed that Babe and JR thought she was crazy and did not deserve custody of Emma.

Annie stormed out of the living room to call Zach. She reported to him that JR and Babe were ganging up on her, like Kendall and Greenlee. She was reluctant to see the shrink that Zach recommended. He assured her that seeing the shrink would help her get custody of Emma.

Babe regretted inviting Annie to stay in the mansion because she was unstable. JR said it was not Babe's fault that Annie went crazy. Babe stated that she should have stayed out of Annie's business, like she should have stayed out of Fusion's business. She further explained that she never should have tried to take over Fusion because her dream was not to own a cosmetic company. Babe broke down and said that she wanted to leave Pine Valley. JR looked shocked, but Babe reminded him that they were happiest when they were in San Diego. She thought that Pine Valley made them do bad things that ruined their relationship in the past and she did not want to make the same mistakes again. He said that he was consumed with getting revenge on Adam and he was fed up with it. JR agreed that they should move back to San Diego.

Pete came to the mansion to visit Adam. Pete begged Adam to drop his lawsuit against Fusion, but Adam refused. Pete worried that if the lawsuit persisted, the women of Fusion would find evidence to prove that Adam was behind the tainted perfume. Pete was even more concerned that Adam would blame everything on him. Pete's pleading did not persuade Adam to give up the lawsuit.

Colby saw Pete and could tell that he was upset. He said that he could not tell her what was going on. She encouraged him to tell her why he was distraught. He blurted out that he tainted Bella for Adam. Colby was appalled. Pete explained that he contaminated the perfume so Adam would let him hang out with Colby. She affirmed that Pete was a bigger loser than she thought. Pete looked hurt and ran away.

JR informed Adam and Colby that he was moving to San Diego with Babe and Little Adam. Colby was sad because she did not want her brother to leave. JR said that he would miss Colby. Then, he told Adam that he would always love him, no matter where he lived. Adam said nothing.

Colby promised Adam that she would not leave him, as long as he told her the truth about Bella. He pretended to know nothing, so she revealed that Pete had told her everything. Adam seemed annoyed and warned her to stop "pressing" about Bella. She continued to ask questions, so he threatened to have Pete sent to jail. She stormed off.

Babe went to see Krystal and Tad. Babe announced that she was moving. Babe assumed that Krystal would be upset, but her mother urged her to go and never look back. Krystal was glad that Babe and JR were looking for a fresh start. Then, JR came over and Tad congratulated him on the move. JR confided that he was going to miss Adam. Tad joked that he would not miss Adam as much as he'd miss Tad. They embraced.

Babe, JR, and Little Adam returned to the mansion. Adam had a present for his grandson. He gave the little boy a fishing rod and told him to catch a big fish for his grandfather. Little Adam gave Adam a big hug. Adam informed JR that he wanted updates on Little Adam, but stated that he did care about JR. Adam told JR to have a nice life and exited the room. Babe embraced JR as tears filled his eyes.

Taylor met Tad at the boathouse. Tad said that one of his friends was hiring private contractors to work in Iraq. Tad wondered if she was interested. She explained that she did not want a civilian job because she was a soldier. He then began to inquire about her family, but she refused to answer any questions, and left.

Tad told Krystal about his encounter with Taylor. Tad was determined to find out about Taylor's past after an anonymous person hired him to investigate her.

Randi and Frankie unpacked their belongings and discussed what they liked and disliked in a roommate. She revealed that she was a light sleeper, so she hoped he did not snore. He laughed and kissed her. Then, Taylor came by to give them a housewarming gift. After Randi left for work, Taylor asked Frankie if he would help her with something that she had been putting off.

Zach was surprised to see Ryan in his home early in the morning. Ryan explained that he fell asleep in Emma's bedroom while he was hanging her picture. Kendall said that she saw him sleeping, but decided not to wake him because Emma needed her father. Zach looked annoyed and left for work.

Ryan inquired why there was tension between Kendall and Zach. Ryan was concerned that Kendall was too involved in his life and that it was negatively affecting her relationship with Zach. She replied that he was her friend and Zach understood that. Still, Ryan felt that Kendall needed to "back off" of his life, so she could focus on her family. She affirmed that she wanted Ryan to be happy and she felt that Ryan would only be happy with his true love, Greenlee. So, she urged him to fight for Greenlee.

Annie went to see a shrink. She ranted about Greenlee and Kendall conspiring against her. She then divulged that a man was stalking her and she believed Greenlee and Kendall hired the stalker to make her look crazy. She asked the doctor if he believed her and he said yes. He agreed to testify on her behalf at the custody trial. However, after Annie left, Zach visited with the doctor. The doctor told Zach that he had enough proof to show that Annie was crazy and should not win custody of Emma. Zach was very pleased.

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Dr. Price, the therapist, told Zach that Annie was delusional and unstable. Annie thought she heard her stalker outside the Chandler mansion. Annie almost hit JR with a fire poker, but JR managed to stop her before she did any harm. JR called Annie crazy, but Annie claimed Greenlee was the person stalking her. Annie warned JR to stay out of her life. She called Dr. Price and asked to see him only hours before the custody hearing. Colby offered to finish packing Little Adam's belongings while Babe went to tell the Fusion women she was quitting. JR began stacking suitcases against the front door. Colby told JR she was initially angry at him for leaving, but understood his life would be better without Adam around.

Zach listened to Annie from a hidden window as she told Dr. Price about the incident with JR. While she spoke, memories of killing Richie began coming back to Annie. Suddenly, she admitted that killing Richie was an accident. Dr. Price was shocked at Annie's confession. At first, Annie said she only meant that she felt guilty about Richie's death. But Dr. Price got Annie to admit that she did kill Richie because he was torturing her family. Annie asked Dr. Price if he was going to report her crime to the police. Unexpectedly, she heard Zach's cell phone ringing behind the window. Annie screamed that there was a two-way mirror in the room. She threw a paperweight at the mirror and it shattered.

Opal told Jake that the hospital needed to be prepared for something bad coming to Pine Valley. Opal was shocked when she saw Ryan at the hospital, because he was in her last vision. Jake left to take care of a patient. Ryan sensed Opal was upset. Opal said she was having bad omens in her tarot cards and visions. She told Ryan he was calling out for someone he loved while drowning in her last dream.

Greenlee came home shortly before Aidan stopped listening to the footage he took from her conversations with Ryan. She told Aidan that she needed to clean up before heading back to Fusion. Greenlee put her earrings on the counter before going to shower. Aidan took the earrings and checked them to make sure the hidden microphones were working properly. Greenlee changed clothes, kissed Aidan goodbye, put her earrings on and headed back to work.

Amanda and Randi fielded phone calls about the tainted Bella perfume models. When Greenlee arrived at Fusion, Kendall said Ryan stayed at her home. She urged Greenlee to attend the custody hearing in support of Ryan. Kendall scolded Babe for coming in late while she worked all night to fix Babe's mistakes. Babe said she would make it up to Kendall and the others by resigning from Fusion immediately. Babe admitted that she was trying to steal the company from Greenlee and Kendall. She also told them about the move to California with JR and Little Adam. As Amanda begged Babe to stay, Ryan called Greenlee and asked to meet him on Fusion's roof. Greenlee took off the earrings after reception got a little murky on her cell phone. Babe shook Kendall's hand and was escorted out by Amanda. An FDA representative called Kendall to tell her that Fusion was being shut down until the Bella investigation was finished. As soon as Jake came to Fusion, Amanda wept in his arms. She told Jake all her money was gone and her life was over. Jake told Amanda she would not feel down for long. They shared a kiss near the spot where Greenlee placed her earrings. Aidan heard the kissing noises and assumed it was Ryan and Greenlee.

Ryan told Greenlee that he was tired of trying to always do the right thing to make everyone else happy. He said that he wanted to get back to fighting for what he believed was right, which included having a life with Greenlee. Ryan said he knew Greenlee loved him too and kissed her. Greenlee pulled away and claimed she loved Aidan. Ryan said he would wait for Greenlee, no matter how long it took. Greenlee said she would not break her marriage vows to Aidan. Greenlee and Ryan returned to the office and she put her earrings back on. Ryan said they needed to talk about their relationship.

Taylor said she wanted to see Brot's mother in Pine Valley. She asked Frankie to come with her. Taylor said it was important for Brot's mother to know how much they loved each other. She said that Tad was asking her questions about her past, which was what Jake did when they initially met. Having people genuinely interested in her, as though she was family, felt strange, Taylor said. Taylor and Frankie went to Brot's mother's home, which was adorned with pictures of Brot. The woman asked for Taylor's name again. Taylor said she was Brot's fiancée. Brot's mother said he never mentioned Taylor. Brot thanked the woman for her time and left. Once at Frankie's apartment, Taylor said she doubted Brot's love for her if he never mentioned the engagement.

JR, Babe, and Little Adam prepared to leave the Chandler mansion. JR said Adam refused to answer his office door when he tried to say goodbye. JR hugged Colby tightly, took one last look at the living room and called out goodbye to his father.

Friday, October 10, 2008

Erica showed up at the Chandler estate to find Colby seemingly oblivious to the blaring music around her as she read. When she was finally able to get the teenager's attention, Colby informed her that the loud music was an attempt to get her father to come out of his self-imposed seclusion. She then told Erica about the sudden move that Babe and JR made to San Diego.

Kendall and Zach took Emma to the courthouse for the custody hearing. They saw Annie in the hall, and the little girl immediately ran to her mother, elated. She asked if they were allowed to go home yet, and Zach explained to her again that they needed to talk to the judge first. Then, as Annie tried to squeeze in as many hugs as she could, Kendall pulled her husband aside and expressed her dismay that Ryan wasn't there yet. A few moments later, a children's services representative arrived to escort Emma to a playroom for the duration of the trial, but Emma wanted to stay with her mother. Kendall intervened and suggested that since she had to go, they should find crayons and draw a picture as a present. Annie agreed that she would love that and then encouraged Emma when she asked if she could draw one for her father as well. The three ladies went off to the playroom and Annie immediately lamented what had happened, when she and Ryan were once in love and happy. She added that Emma needed to be with her mother, and Zach replied that Emma needed stability. Slightly taken aback, Annie inquired as to why he thought that she couldn't provide that for her daughter. Zach confessed that he had been in the psychiatrist's office and knew that she had killed her brother.

Annie was outraged that Zach spied on her, but he was unaffected by her ire. He told her that he would have done the same thing if he had gotten to Richie first and then asked if she'd told anyone what she had done. She informed him that the only person to whom she'd confessed was the psychiatrist. Zach told her that she'd made a bad decision because Dr. Price would testify at the hearing. She was horrified at the intended breach of confidentiality, but Zach told her it would be viewed favorably, as it would be in the best interest of the child. Annie frantically scrambled for a way to stop the inevitable, and remembered that the doctor owed Zach a favor. He told her that he couldn't fix it, but that she could if she agreed to tell the judge that Emma belonged with her father.

While Aidan listened in via the bug he placed in his wife's earrings, Ryan explained to Greenlee that he believed that the instances that had continued to draw them together should be proof that they were fated to be together. Unsettled, Greenlee asked Ryan to leave, but he refused and said he wouldn't until she looked him in the eye and told him that she no longer loved him. At that, Aidan was done listening, took his earpiece out, and threw it across the floor. He stormed out, which caused him to miss Greenlee telling Ryan that she was in love with her husband. Ryan rejected her claim and said that she would never be able to love another man the way she loved him. He then told her that he'd tried to play by other people's rules but realized that they had been fighting a losing battle. Greenlee pleaded with him to stop, as she truly wanted her marriage to work, but Ryan retorted that if that were true, she wouldn't have kissed him.

Greenlee angrily reminded him that he had kissed her and that she pushed him away but he pointed out that she only did so after she gave in to the kiss. He told her that the intense connection and passion they once openly shared was still there, and asked why it was that she couldn't admit to still being in love with him. Before she could deal with that, Aidan sprang out of the recently opened elevator doors and demanded an answer to that question as well. He didn't give her time to answer before he accused her of an extended period of fooling around with her ex-husband.

Both Greenlee and Ryan seemed floored by the accusations until Aidan said that the earrings he gifted to his wife were a way to prove that their marriage could work. Both were shocked that he had bugged her, but Greenlee calmly told Ryan that he needed to leave so that she and Aidan could get some things straight. Aidan interrupted and asked if she wanted to clarify which vows she had planned to keep, and Ryan urged his ex to leave with him. She kept her cool and told him to think of his daughter, as she would be devastated if he lost Emma because he'd shown up late to the proceedings. Ryan knew she was right and took his leave, as Greenlee slowly turned back to face the man she loved.

Greenlee demanded to know how their marriage had come to spying, and Aidan blasted her and said that she had spent all of her free time with Ryan in an effort to help him out of one bind or another. She announced that she was being a friend, and Aidan reminded her that she had claimed to Ryan's face, in front of her husband, that she could no longer do that. In addition, she had said that she could still have Ryan's babies while they were on their honeymoon. Greenlee harshly reminded him that she had been delirious when she said that - and that there was no way she would willingly subject herself again to the pain she felt when Ryan drove off of a cliff to get away from her. Aidan was still disbelieving and said that he heard Greenlee and Ryan kissing and moaning. Greenlee told him that he'd heard Amanda and Jake making out next to the earring she had taken off - and then told him that he had to be wary of those kinds of mistakes when he made the choice to bug his wife.

Aidan tried to justify his actions and said that he needed proof that she hadn't just given him lip service when she said that all of her connections to Ryan were in the past. He also blasted her because he had to find out from Annie that she had bailed Ryan out of jail. Greenlee told him that Annie was being a troublemaker and he fired back that it could all have been avoided if she had trusted him. Irate, she told him that she trusted him until he slept with her best friend. She reminded him that she was the only one allowed to have trust issues but she had managed to forgive him and move on, then lamented that he wasn't able to do the same. He told her that he gave her every possible out before they got married but when she assured him that she was ready to spend the rest of her life with him, he gave in. However, he told her, he felt tortured when he listened to her talking to Ryan about fate and the things they shared. She said that he had just as much choice about listening to those conversations as he did about planting the bugs. He insisted that he needed to hear the truth so she offered to give it to him. When she told him that she was not sleeping with Ryan, he told her that she might as well be. Frustrated, she decided the conversation was pointless. He asked if her decision was because what he said was true, and she told him it was because he was determined to believe whatever he wanted.

Adam sat on the floor of his grandson's room and played with a toy train that had been left behind. When a knock came at the door, he bellowed that he'd asked not to be disturbed. Never one to follow orders, Erica invited herself in for a chat. Adam tried to disguise how heartbroken he was that his son had moved his grandson out of the house, but Erica knew better. She offered to help him pack Little Adam's things and said that when they were done, they should get on with their lives. She attempted to help him pack but he hovered over her, concerned that she would break something. He told her to take her time as he wasn't in any hurry, and Erica then took the opportunity to suggest that they have dinner right away, and pack up later. Unwilling to leave, Adam suggested that she enjoy dinner on her own. Erica insisted that he abandon the project, as she refused to let him stay in the room and wallow in his sorrow. He fired back that of the two of them, she was the one who wallowed, and cited her actions since Jack chose to be with Carmen as proof. Infuriated, Erica claimed that she no longer cared about whom Jack chose to spend time with, since she had moved on. She stormed out of the room.

Angie and Jesse had a brief make out session at their house before Angie reminded him that she needed to be at the hospital soon, but hadn't found her keys. After he remarked that things would be easier to find if their son's things weren't still cluttering the house, he asked her to go call the elevator while he looked for her keys. She did just that, and when she reached the elevator, she found the young woman that she'd met a few days prior. Amazed that the young woman would continue to wait for a man that didn't value her time, Angie encouraged her to move on. She then introduced herself by name, but before the woman could say anything, Jesse joined them in the hall. Angie introduced Jesse and without a missed beat, the woman acted as if she didn't know Jesse, and introduced herself as Natalia. The elevator finally showed up and Jesse quickly ushered his wife into the waiting car so that she wouldn't be late. Apologetic for their abrupt departure, Angie clasped the woman's hand, expressed her hope that she wouldn't have to wait much longer, and then stepped into the elevator and waved briefly as the doors closed.

Frankie exited the elevator a short time later with boxes in hand, ready to pack some more of his things. He almost ran into Natalia, apologized, and continued on his way. She followed him in short order and asked if she could use his bathroom, as she had locked herself out of her place and had been waiting a long time for the locksmith. Frankie agreed easily and let her in. After she'd used the facilities, Natalia formally introduced herself and asked why Frankie had decided to move. He told her that it was time to get out from under his parents-just as she spied a picture of Angie and Jesse in an open box. She examined it closely and after Frankie told her that it had been taken on their wedding day, she told him that they looked happy. Her cell phone rang and interrupted them, and though she claimed it was the locksmith, no surprise registered on her face when she answered the call and found Jesse on the other end of the line. He chastised her and said that it was not safe to be around his place, but she insisted that she needed to see him.

Pete approached Colby on the Chandler patio and asked if she had told her father what he'd confessed to her. She dodged the question and instead berated him for working with Adam on the Fusion takeover attempt. Pete plainly confessed that he would do anything for Colby; Adam knew it, and used that knowledge to extract what he wanted out of the young man. He then noted that women generally were drawn to men that had that kind of power, but Colby told him that she wasn't attracted to people who would easily destroy others to save themselves. She confessed that Adam had planned to do just that to Pete, but that she had made a deal with her father so that wouldn't happen. Pete was encouraged, but Colby shot him down and said that if he really wanted to impress her, he needed to stop trying to be someone that he could never be.

Adam followed Erica down the stairs and tried to apologize for what he'd done, but the effort was cut short when they ran into Jack and Carmen. Adam demanded to know where they had been, and when Carmen reminded him that she'd informed him of her plans, he pointed out that she was only supposed to be gone for a day. Carmen told him that things took longer than expected, so they stayed overnight. Strong arm firmly in place, Adam noted that he would dock her pay as appropriate, and then told Erica that he needed to change if they planned to make the dinner reservation. After he dashed upstairs, Carmen asked what had gotten into Adam. Erica informed them of JR and Babe's abrupt departure, and when Jack questioned the move, Erica simply chalked it up to the spontaneous things people do when they were in love. Carmen vacated the foyer briefly, so Jack took a moment to ask why Erica had been spending so much time with Adam. She told him that it was really none of his business, but said that she enjoyed spending time with the tycoon. Adam piped up, and alerted the two of them to his presence, when he agreed that time spent with Erica was a treasure.

Jack left them alone, and Erica told Adam that no one would think less of him if he showed how he really felt about JR leaving. Adam dismissed the thought and said what he felt didn't matter because JR would crawl back like he always had. He then told her that he pulled himself up to his current status by the sheer force of his will and that it was awful to see the weakness around him. He thought that it wasn't too much to ask that their children display the same kind of fortitude that their parents did. Erica believed that Kendall had done just that, but Adam tagged her as an emotional wreck and said that Kendall would never be able to measure up to her mother.

Annie didn't feel that giving up her daughter was the best option, but Zach said if she didn't, Dr. Price would testify to her confession and she would lose her daughter for good. Annie said she could confess to the killing, chalk it up to self-defense, get a good lawyer, and get acquitted. Zach told her it would be a risky move, but Annie said she had nothing left to lose. Zach told her that the exact opposite was true and after a beat, she asked how she could be sure that he wouldn't use the information against her. He told her there was no way, but she either had to trust him or take the biggest gamble of her life. Just then, Dr. Price walked past them and directly into the courtroom, and the bailiff called the case to order. He asked if all parties were present and Ryan rounded the corner with Kendall at the last moment, which made it impossible for Annie to have any more time to figure out an alternate plan.

The hearing began and the judge noted that both parties needed to think about the best interests of their daughter. He also stated that Child Protective Services had submitted their recommendation for placement, but that he wanted to hear some additional information before the final decision was submitted. Annie popped up out of her chair then and announced that she had something to say. Slowly, painfully, Annie admitted to the court that she had some things going on in her life that prevented her from giving Emma the safe and stable home environment the little girl desperately needed, and asked that custody be granted to Ryan. A short time later, Annie stormed out of the courtroom, followed closely by Dr. Price. He recognized how difficult her decision had been but told her that she'd made the right one. Ryan, Kendall, and Zach emerged from the courtroom and though they stayed away from Annie, Ryan said that if the man was the one responsible for Annie temporarily surrendering her parental rights, he wanted to thank him. Kendall was in awe that Annie had given up so easily, but Zach told both of them that it couldn't have been easy for Annie at all.

Emma ran out into the hall and was reunited with her father. As Zach and Kendall looked on, Kendall realized that Zach hadn't been helping Annie - he had been working her over for information. Zach told her that the only thing that mattered was Emma's safety. Just then, Annie walked up behind her little girl and wrapped her in a hug. Together, she and Ryan explained that although Annie couldn't go home with them, they would all see each other very soon. While Aidan looked at a picture of himself with his wife and then threw it across the offices at Fusion, Greenlee arrived at the courthouse. As Annie walked off, Emma delivered the news that she would be living with her father. Glad that it worked out for the best, she had no words when Ryan asked if she'd been able to work her issues out. They shared some more small talk as Annie watched from the doorway of the courtroom, and then Ryan took his daughter home. She walked back into the hall and Kendall approached her and assured her that Ryan would take good care of Emma. Distraught, Annie believed that he would do so with Greenlee and yelled at the woman in question for stealing her life. She then collapsed in tears while Kendall held her up.

Angie returned home from the hospital and found her son hauling out a load of his belongings. They briefly touched base on the new "neighbor," Natalia, but Angie quickly moved on. She told him that she had plans for a special dinner with Jesse and ushered him out the door as quickly as they had said hello. Meanwhile, Jesse paced at the boathouse until Natalia arrived. When she did, she was somewhat apologetic for her careless traipsing about Pine Valley. Natalia told him that although she understood that he left because her mother had asked him to, it hadn't been the right move. She told him that her mother had not been doing so well and that she sometimes didn't get out of bed for days at a time. Then, she called him "Dad," and said that she had dealt with losing him, but didn't want to lose her mother as well. Natalia painted a bleak picture and felt it could be rectified if her father would just visit. Jesse admitted that if he could keep her with him all the time, he would, but she told him that her request was not about herself. Jesse told her that he couldn't sneak out behind Angie's back, so his daughter gave him an alternative - she said that he should tell Angie the truth, and that if she really loved him, Angie would understand. At the same time across town, Angie put the final touches on her romantic setup for her husband.
