Chrishell Stause is venturing into brand-new soap territory on Amazon FreeVee's Neighbours

Chrishell Stause is set to join the cast of the half-hour Australian soap opera Neighbours as a new character named Yasmine "Yas" Shields, described as a "glamourous and successful businesswoman pursuing an exciting new opportunity," according to Soap Opera Digest.

The actress is off to Australia in July to start bringing her new role to life after a successful American soap career. Stause began her daytime life as All My Children's Amanda Dillon, a role she played from 2005 to 2011. Stause also played Jordan Ridgeway on Days of our Lives off and on from 2013 to 2023. In 2016, she had a brief stint on The Young and the Restless as Bethany Bryant.

Stause, who was once married to former Passions and Y&R star Justin Hartley, is also a real estate agent and made a name for herself on the Netflix reality series Selling Sunset.

"I am honored and excited to join such a beloved and iconic show!" Stause said. "Coming from the world of soaps in the U.S., it's back to my first love in the entertainment industry. They pitched me an idea for a character, and I was immediately excited to figure out a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street, here I come."

Neighbours first premiered in Australia in 1985 and ran continuously until 2022, when it was canceled. Not long after, Amazon announced it would produce new episodes of the series, and the new episodes began streaming in September of 2023.

With American company Amazon now producing it, the show became eligible for this year's Daytime Emmy Awards. It was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series along with all four American soaps and digital soap The Bay. Guy Pearce, who plays Mike Young on Neighbours, was nominated for Outstanding Guest Performer.
