HEADS UP: GH alum Vinessa Antoine's new series Diggstown being made available for global viewing

Fans in the United States will be able to watch General Hospital's Vinessa Antoine (ex-Jordan Ashford) in Diggstown, as eOne is taking the Canadian series global.

Move over, poutine, because General Hospital alum Vinessa Antoine (ex-Jordan Ashford) and her new series Diggstown are now the hottest Canadian specialties being served up to Americans... and other English-speaking people all over the globe.

Thanks to the entertainment company eOne, Ashford's legal drama will be available for viewing outside of Canada, which means GH fans can keep up with the popular actress in her new leading role.

"Hey looks like the USA will see @Diggstowncbc after all," Antoine shared on Twitter. "Yay!!!"

Diggstown follows Antoine in the role of Marcie Diggs, a top corporate lawyer who decides to dedicate herself to a legal aid office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The GH alum will make history as the first Black Canadian actress to star in a primetime drama on legacy network television, according to the show's network, CBC.

"Adding to our diverse and robust slate, Diggstown builds on our offering of distinctive episodic dramas featuring compelling characters and multifaceted storylines in a distinct and unique location," said Noel Hedges, eOne's executive VP of acquisitions and international distribution.

"We are pleased to have eOne, a world-class media company, as our partner on Diggstown. Noel and his team are the perfect fit for the brand of elevated episodic drama we're hoping to make," said creator Floyd Kane.

As for GH fans who have been holding out hope that maybe, just maybe, Antoine could simultaneously film both Diggstown and the ABC soap opera, all hopes have been dashed. GH felt it was best to recast the role of Jordan, with Briana Henry stepping into the role. And Antoine asks fans to give her replacement a chance, because her own time in Port Charles has come to a definite end.

"As far as I know, I don't think I'll be returning to GH anytime," she recently tweeted. "They felt it best to recast Jordan. Hope you all give her a chance and some love and respect. Represent GH fans in the best light."

UPDATE (November 6, 2018): If you have been anxiously awaiting word about when you can check out Diggstown -- we now have a premiere date. The show will premiere March 6, 2019 in Canada. A premiere date has yet to be announced for U.S. markets.
